| | Provincial Budget Update: Land Transfer Fee Today, the Government of Alberta announced an increase in the land titles registration fee. Despite this increase, it’s worth noting that Alberta’s land title transfer fees remain the lowest in Canada.The reason for the fee increase is the much-needed modernization of the land title system. AREA is committed to working with Government in support of these efforts. AREA commends the Government for keeping the land titles system a public, government-owned resource.Looking to the future, once the land titles modernization project has been successfully completed, AREA is committed to advocating for the subsequent removal of the increased fee.
